A Little About Me

I’m Taylor - the founder of Rye & Elm. I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m an Upstate New Yorker, born and raised—and I’ll always be proud of where I’m from.

In 2018, I moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and it was love at first sight. Between the coastline, the mountains, and the historic charm, New England quickly became home—and the place that truly shaped my eye for design.

I’ve always been drawn to creating spaces that feel both beautiful and lived in. My style is rooted in mixing old and new—layering pieces with history alongside fresh, updated elements to create homes that feel warm, timeless, and personal.

After getting married, I moved back to my hometown in New York. While I loved being close to family, I found myself missing that New England lifestyle—the textures, the tones, the feeling of it all. Through decorating, I started bringing those elements into my own home, recreating that sense of place in a way that felt natural and meaningful.

That’s where Rye & Elm began.

Rye & Elm is a reflection of that balance—a slight coastal influence with classic roots, elevated but approachable, curated yet comfortable. It’s about creating spaces that tell a story, feel collected over time, and truly reflect the people who live in them.

With a background in the corporate world, I bring a thoughtful, organized, and detail-driven approach to every project—making the process feel seamless while still creative and personal.

Rye & Elm is more than just design—it’s about creating a home that feels like you.
